Songyang Intellectual Property Forum: the academic lecture on the registration and protection of place names and trademarks was successfully held

From 19:00 to 21:30 on December 8, 2021, Yang Yonggang, a class 92 alumnus of the Law School of Zhengzhou University, a part-time professor of the Law School of Zhengzhou University (intellectual property school), President of Beijing geographical indication industry association, President of Beijing Nongzhi geographical indication Research Institute, President of geographical indication branch of China Trademark Association, chairman of Beijing Golden intelligent Intellectual Property Agency Co., Ltd. and founder of Beijing Beizhi law firm, I was invited to bring a special lecture entitled "registration and protection of place names and trademarks" to the teachers and students of our college. The lecture was held online, presided over by Professor Zhang defen, the head of intellectual property discipline of our college. Teachers Guo Yusha, Xian Chenxu and postgraduates and undergraduates majoring in intellectual property participated in the lecture online.

Professor Yang Yonggang introduced the registration and protection of place names and trademarks around the recent hot topics in the field of trademarks, such as "Xiaoyao town Hula soup", "Tongguan roujiamo", "Korla Fragrant Pear" and so on. In the lecture, Professor Yang Yonggang explained the ten registration requirements for the confirmation and protection of geographical indication collective trademarks and certification trademarks from the source laws and regulations of geographical names and trademarks, and clearly introduced that if geographical indication collective trademarks and certification trademarks want to be confirmed and protected, they need to meet the qualified applicant's main qualification, obtain the authorization and approval of the people's government or the competent department of the industry, and write the power of attorney of trademark agency Have the proof of the objective existence of geographical indications, comply with the management rules for the use of geographical indication collective or certification trademark, submit the description that the specific quality is determined by specific natural or human factors, have the ability of the applicant to supervise and test the certificate, and retain the certification of foreign materials. Then, Professor Yang Yonggang responded to the hot cases such as "Xiaoyao town hu la soup", "Tongguan roujiamo" and "Korla Fragrant Pear" based on the above theoretical knowledge, and answered the recent controversial questions to the students.

In the interactive session, Professor Yang Yonggang, Professor Zhang defen, teacher Guo Yusha and the students had further exchanges and discussions on "judgment of trademark use", "rules for the use of ordinary collective trademarks", "abuse of intellectual property rights" and other issues, and answered the questions raised by the students carefully.
