Jinan unveiling of China geographical indication industry building

Recently, sponsored by the Huaiyin District People's Government of Jinan City and the Yellow River Basin geographical indication industry alliance and undertaken by Shandong geographical indication Association, the "Unveiling Ceremony of China's geographical indication industry building and the Yellow River Basin geographical indication high quality development forum" with the theme of "taking advantage of the Yellow River national strategy to play the movement of geographical indications" was held in Jinan, Shandong Province. More than 300 people attended the meeting, including Li Zhaohui, deputy director of the Trademark Office of the State Intellectual Property Office, Zhou Yunping, deputy director of the United Front Work Department of Shandong provincial Party committee, Lin Guohua, first-class inspector of Shandong Provincial Department of agriculture and rural areas, Yu Zhiyong, deputy director of Shandong Provincial Bureau of market supervision (Intellectual Property Office), sun Changjian, deputy secretary of Huaiyin District Party committee and head of Huaiyin District, sun Mingxiang, President of Shandong geographical indication industry association, directors and member units of the association.

As a characteristic brand of characteristic economy, geographical indication has become a local "bright business card", an industrial "gold lettered signboard", a "gold mine for farmers to get rich", a "quality label" for consumption and a "green certificate" for export. According to sun Mingxiang, the newly unveiled China geographical indication industry building will integrate the geographical indication Museum, 5g core smart geographical indication Experience Hall, the geographical indication product trading center in the Yellow River Basin and the geographical indication smart management system to form a new highland for the agglomeration and development of national geographical indication industry based on Shandong and facing the whole country.

Shandong has abundant geographical indication resources. For many years, it has maintained the status of a major geographical indication Province in China. As of August 2021, the province has 81 geographical indication protection products, 844 geographical indication certification trademarks and 351 geographical indications of agricultural products. The number of geographical indication trademarks and geographical indications of agricultural products ranks first in China; 17 geographical indication products have been protected by the EU in two batches, ranking third in China.

In January 2021, the first selection activities of "Shandong landmark business card" and "Shandong geographical indication (origin) high-quality products" were launched. According to the relevant provisions and standard conditions of the measures for the cultivation and identification of geographical indication brands in Shandong Province, the standards for the identification of geographical indication business cards in Shandong Province and the standards for the identification of high-quality products of geographical indication (origin) in Shandong Province, 22 "geographical indication business cards in Shandong Province" and 30 "high-quality products of geographical indication (origin) in Shandong Province" were selected. The selected products were awarded at this development forum.

Representatives of the geographical indication industry associations of nine provinces (regions) along the Yellow River, including Qinghai Province, Gansu Province and Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, said in their introduction to geographical indications of their own provinces and regions that in the future, they will strengthen the co construction and sharing of scientific and technological resources, promote the interconnection of the technology trading market in the Yellow River Basin, and jointly build the innovation demonstration belt and regional scientific and technological innovation center in the Yellow River Basin; Strengthen the cooperation and linkage of industrial development, promote the free flow and optimal allocation of production factors, jointly plan to build a high-quality development demonstration area along the Yellow River, and jointly build a manufacturing agglomeration belt and characteristic industrial base with global influence.
